The London Aquarium is a dazzling display of more than 600 different types of underwater life for you to experience at Europe's largest aquarium, in more than two million litres of water. With a central London location in the former County Hall, once the elegant headquarters of London's governing council, the London Aquarium's star sharks, jellyfish, crocodiles, giant catfish and even penguins are housed in huge themed tanks.
The towering glass walls of the Rainforest Zone take you underwater with some awe-inspiringcreatures while an innovative glass ceiling allows you to walk - literally - beneath the sea in the Ocean Tunnel with creatures of the deep swimming above you. There's an entire tank devoted to the extraordinary seahorse, and anyone interested in London will be fascinated by a display about the many species that live beneath the surface of the River Thames, now brought back to life after a huge environmental effort.
Understandably, given the quality of this fascinating place, The London Aquarium is hugely popular. Long queues can be seen there each morning. Advance tickets for this family attraction are the simple way to reach the entrance doors immediately and begin your unforgettable underwater experience.
A day out at the London Aquarium. Tickets bought the night before online with a discount. Very easy and straightforward.
Our 1.5 year old loved it. Very buggy friendly and has changing facilities. Lots of places on the Southbank to eat that cater for families with young children.
