The London Eye has become as much as symbol of London as the Eiffel Tower has of Paris. This elegant, uniquely engineered Ferris Wheel, looking across and over the River Thames towards the tower that houses the Big Ben bell and the Palace of Westminster has been delighting and thrilling visitors since it opened on Millennium Eve, 31 December 1999. The London Eye is Europe's tallest Ferris Wheel and the only one with its capsules on the outside of the wheel, rotating as the wheel goes around. Your view is upwards, outwards, north and south, east and west. The panorama takes in all of London's landmark buildings from The Shard skyscraper and Tower Bridge to Westminster Abbey, the towers of Canary Wharf and the sprawl of the many ancient villages that make up 21st century London.
Long lines for tickets have been a feature of the London Eye since the day it opened, which is why we'd strongly advise that you buy your tickets in advance, to enable you to jump the queue. The London Eye is a one-of-a-kind experience, cantilevered over the river from its anchoring point on the South Bank and designed by visionary architects to offer you the most memorable view over a great city.
Fantasy easy to navigate system.
I like the fact that multiple tickets can be printed on the same page- making you greener than other sites that print a page a ticket
